@lice99 的相簿 :: Day 2pm - Beng Mealea

Beng Mealea, also named as the jungle temple by local people, is a true combination of nature and ruin. It was built in the 12th century by the order of King Suryavarman II, initially comprised a massive moat measuring 1.2km by 900m but which had already been dried up as of now. Damaged by civil war, land mines and natural (huge trees), the temple is almost completely destroyed and collapsed. Walking into the jungle, we can still see remains of some sandstone built statutes and architecture of the ancient structure.
